Loosely based on actual reports of Japanese submarines patrolling the Pacific duriing WWII, I'll Remember April details events that transpire following the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Best of friends, four ten-year old California boys, Pee Wee, Duke, Tyler and Willy, like to fantasize that they are Marines in search of the enemy. Known throughout the town for telling tales, the FBI soon show up and cut their mission short. Feeling hurt and dejected, the boys head to the clubhouse, where they are shocked to find a Japanese sailor washed up on the beach. The boys, desperately wanting to become heroes, take him prisoner as they determine his fate.
Duke, whose brother is fightings the Japanese overseas, keeps the capture a secret from his parents. But when Duke is dramatically rescued from drowning, the boys befriend their prisoner and eventually make a pact that will betray their own country.
