It had potential but they dragged it out too long Good Characters, somewhat interesting storyline but like any recipe - pour in to much water and you thin out the taste. In this case the water represents trying to make two seasons e.g. 26 episodes out of only enough material to barely make just one season e.g. 12 episodes. When you try to stretch the storyline out that much each episode DRAGS at such a slow pace it becomes a very painful experience to watch this along with all the EXTRA filler they try to add in which detracts from the story you are trying to watch. We are seeing this more and more am afraid as the Japanese studios think they can make more money this way - such a shame (just think, the Japanese studios could have given us two different one season Animes for the same price just to make this one - food for thought). My only advise is if you must see this then get it at a super super discount. Armitage III: Dual Matrix DVD (Hyb) (Special Edition) + Figure Ogie Doggie - Nov 16 2009 ogiedoggie@aol.com Rating: Not all that good. Spent all their time on animation and forgot that you have to have a story too! They spend all their time on animation and none on the story Dual Matrix is the sequel to Poly Matrix (if you haven't seen Poly Matrix please go back and see the original 4 part OVA or even the first movie POLY-MATRIX (which was created from the 4 part OVA) - because they really short changed us on the story line in this DUAL-MATRIX. After hearing about this sequel to the original movie and waiting for 6 months to see it I was really pissed off to see how they spent so little time on the story (which is what I admire so much about Japanese Anime). Like Armitage goes off to Chicago back on Earth without telling Ross her husband (and leaving their 5 year old daughter too!). Ross transferred from the Chicago Police Dept on Earth so it would make more sense that she took him too since he knows the place and people. They even went and changed history because Ross who in the first movie has half his body replaced by cyber parts (right arm and leg) now in this movie he has NO cyber parts (you'll see this in the very end of the movie when he is standing in the water at the beach). Why is that so important you ask? Well the whole THEME to ARMITAGE III is "a Robot becoming Human and a Human becoming a Robot'. This is a great series that has real potential for growth - to bad we don't see it in this movie. But it's still worth renting because they did do some good animation in this, just don't expect to have your mind challenge on this one. Something a little different in a Vampire series Something a little different in a Vampire series!!! After Vampire D. then Blood the Last Vampire, then Hellsing, then Moon Phase, I thought I had seen it all but there is still room for something a little different in Vampire Anime and this seems to be it. High School female student who just happens to be a vampire who is a little different from most vampires in that she can walk around in sun light and sleeps at night and instead of taking blood when she bites you she gives you blood. These differences make her the black sheep of her family too. I just love the way they give you a more in depth look at vampires in this one. It is rare in my reviews that I give a "Wonderful" Rating but this one deserves it. I Rate this as a Must See. |
