Better than Alice in Wonderland
I'm up to episode 14. Each episode is full of suprises, regular animation combined with awesome CGI. And the voice for Kaze--J. Hudson Brownlee is totally sexy. Just wish he more lines because I could listen to his voice all day.

fascinating
This series was the best buy I have invested in so far. I regret not buying it earlier. I loved the way the summons were presented in this series. Also making my own theories on how the other final fantasy games were based. It seems that this was a base of what happened before the other final fantasy games. I wish they would make more cause I want more more more!!!!

Intended for children.
I picked up this series when it was on sale thinking, "At this price, what do I have to lose?" Quite a bit actually. The animation was done by GONZO so if nothing else, the animation would be gorgeous right? Not so much. Certain scenes are breathtaking but on the whole it's obviously a budget flick.

The hero is a taciturn powerful warrior (didn't see that coming from Square now did you?) and once an episode you get to see him charge up his elemental attack with a running commentary on what element he would use and why and then he'd name the attack. When a full minute and a half of every episode is dedicated to a DBZ-esque ultra powerful attack, I lose attention quickly.

My 12 and 14 year old sisters couldn't make it through the series either, but I suppose if you have young children they might get a kick out of it.

Disappointing.
Summary * to *****: =================== Animation: ** Story: *

I bought this series just because it has 'Final Fantasy' in the title. It starts off promising enough with a big climatic battle and then years later with a couple of kids on the search for their parents in a parallel world.

It went downhill from there. Random filler episodes, no rhyme or reason as to why certain events were happening. And then suddenly the writers try to tie everything together in the penultimate episode...which unfortunately is the last episode. The season ends with an abrupt 'what now?' sort of cliffhanger.

The animation quality is very average with some rather poor cgi effects as well. It almost as if they had the A team start the first 5 minutes and the B team took over the rest of the series. Very substandard given the company and the 'Final Fantasy' title. I mean the Squenix cgi in the FF games are far far far superior.

I'd pass on this title.
