say soun - Dec 8 2002 Rating: Wonderful! a work of art i love this series. it has plenty of action in every episode and has a great storyline to go with it. the character designs are superb. it's about time adv has finally decided to release it here in the u.s. because now i can update my fan sub with the real thing. Mireille Bouquet and Kirika Yuumura sure can kick some major a$$. buy it because you won't be disapointed in any way. I was watching the anime noir title maidens with black gloves, the title of it alone is an eye catcher. The animation with the characters and the background just seemed to fit. Plus the action sequences were really something. The way the characters moved, it just seemed to flow. Also can't forget the music scores for the peice were also well put to gether and enhanced the animation and the action even further. Plus with the added music from the pocket watch gave it that dark feeling witch also added some suspence to the show. From the first episode the story line behind the two maidens is good from what I can tell and is hopefully something that will continue to bloom through out the coming episodes. Get this now!!! nathan kelty - Mar 31 2003 Rating: Wonderful! a great show with great sound! Finally-- an excellent show that has 5.1 surround!!! The characters are well formed and you want to find out how they got the way they are. The plot develops enough to intrigue you but not to the point where you are confused. And I am especally excited about the surround sound. I just got my sound system and was disappoited with only a few T.V. titles had the upgraded sound. Just bought the first DVD on Monday and had to go back on Tuesday to get the others. Probably the best thing I've seen from ADV this year! The 5.1 is sweet and the pocketwatch music creeps me out! Anyone know what the messages on the backs of the booklets are for? I figured it's probably a clue to unlock some easter eggs, but I must be too dense to figure it out. Luke J. Keppler - Apr 3 2005 Rating: Wonderful! Classic Noir is an extremely well-crafted masterpiece with absolutely superb audio direction. The pacing is perfect. PERFECT. Every Hollywood director should take a look at Noir as an example of how to direct. I often say that anime is about 60% aural and 40% visual. Noir takes full advantage of this fact, perfectly blending an unbelievable soundtrack with highly memorable artwork/animation. This is a MUST BUY anime. One of the top 5 series I've seen, easily. |
