Let the sucking end!
It was such a crying shame to see a corrupt company like Viz handle Inu Yasha. 3 eps a disc at $25 a disc for a series that is possibly still running in Japan at nearly 200 episodes to date. Do the math - they expect you to pay well over $1000 to own the entire story if you buy the discs individually. Sound familiar? Look at what Funimation has done with Dragon Ball - same crap. Takahashi's manga / anime are famous for great love stories with a twist. You hardly notice the romance in this anime amidst all the violence, deception and sheer action in this anime. It's great, and finally it's all being collected in less of a theiving manner for fans. It's still gonna cost money, but at least now it's worth it.

A reponse
This is a response to the individual before me; In VIZ's defense some of the more popular anime title are VERY expensive for the distributors to aquire. This cost has to be passed on to the consumer. Titles such as Dragonball Z and Inu Yasha (which by the way is takahashi's most popular title in japan, regardless if it's her best, therefore making it the most expensive) are highly popular, driving up the price. Then once they get the licensing for these titles they have to get english voice actors to do the entire series, if they are long as is the case in both aforementioned series, the contracts are more. Think about it would you want to get locked into a series for two to three years without a little something extra. So next time you want to diss a company for high prices think about why they might be charging extra. Aslso at least viz's boxsets are LESS than ifyou buy the discs seperately, some companies like bandai charge more (cowboy bebop, $200 for 6 dvds)
