The original series condensed into a movie trilogy, but there is a flaw First I want to explain my summary, while I love the movies themselves there is a flaw with the way they were remastered. I feel I should explain this first before giving my review of the movies themselves. The movie trilogy was originally put out of vhs however after many years the voice track became dirty and deteriorated therefore a new track had to be created. And while it sounds great thanks to new technology however the songs that were a part of the movie became mere background sound. Originally the songs played over top of the voice track at certain points and it sounded great it was switched and now you can barely hear them. I found this very distressing because the soundtrack is so good it seems a shame to for the songs to be inaudible. Besides that though the discs are well put together, the designs for the covers and the box are spectacular and the movies themselves are great. Trying to cram 43 episodes into 3 two and a half hour movies seems impossible but it is done well. Some minor events and characters are skipped over and a few events are switched around but without this the pacing would have been off. Overall this set is well worth it's price tag especially since the tv series itself is dub only because of an issue with the original voice track and copyrights, For any Gundam fan I totally recomend it!! |
