Dragon Ball Z Season 3 Uncut DVD Set (Hyb): Frieza Saga

Awsome All of these season sets are amazing, especially this one (it is by far my Fav. of the first three)I know everyone is complaining about the 4:3 cropping to 16:9 and yes it is a minus and should not have been done but let me remind you: These season sets are the only way of getting all of the 291 DBZ episodes in english (and remastered no less). The three audio tracks are awsome, the picture is good, this is really worth buying, it is truely the difinitive english Dragonball Z collection (or atleast will be once all of the seasons are out). In regards to the comment about the cropping the footage has not been cropped it's been sized up now when you play on HD TV the black lines will be gone and it will perfectly fit on that HD tv with out any black lines on top or bottom or right or left. So be thankful! Joey Gardner - Apr 15 2008 Rating: Wonderful! The Best of the Best This set is definitly the best of the best. It has always been my favorite DBZ saga ever and I highly recommend this set to both old and new DBZ fans. I know some people disagree with the new widescreen format because it was achieved by cropping, but whether it is in 16:9 or 4:3, it doesn't really matter to me. I don't mind if there is about an inch or two of missing footage in the video, it still looks great. Also, the video is remastered and features far better quality than it did on the tapes or previous DVDs. What I like the most is the final fight between Freeza and Super Saiyan Son Goku on the soon-to-explode Planet Namek. It is one of the most intense fights in the whole series and it made me the most anxious to find out what happens when I first saw it. I won't spoil the plot though. As far as the audio goes, I'd mostly recommend the Japanese version with the English subtitles. The Dub is okay but it's not an accurate translation and even though it now contains the original score, the original opening theme is still replaced for some reason. But it's you guys' choice so, whatever. The other DBZ seasons are also great and I recommend them too. This one is just my favorite. |
