Street Fighter Alpha: The Movie DVD (Hyb)

It does'nt come near the original STREET FIGHTER 2 ANIMATED MOVIE If your a big, but I mean big fan of the Street Fighter series you should buy this. I have been a fan all my life of the Street Fighter series but because of this I was really picky to see if this anime represented the series good. This anime does not represent the game series good. First of all the story does not follow the original of the game. The animation is not even near the awesome and excellent animation of the orinal Street Fighter 2 animated movie. The music is okay compared great tracks from the original SF2M. The thing that got me mad the most was that the vilan was'nt even the series famous and mighty Bison but someother madeup wanabe. You have to bee a big fan of the series to buy this but other wise I don'nt recomend it. In conclusion this movie is not for every one and if you want to see something that really represents the SF series buy the original Street Fighter2 animated movie. Being something of a fan of game spawned anime, I've seen both good and Samurai Showdown(i.e. "bad"). This one pulled a decent story with smooth action, with the only thing annoying being a few of the DBZ type of power-up sequences. Yet I fear Manga is picking up ADV's distasteful habit of using misleading advertising. After the thoroughly disappointing "Ninja Resurrection", I thought I'd be more alert for bogus sequels. sheesh, my bad... It doesn't make sense and and they make you think Akuma is a big part of it. First off, Akuma barely appears. Second, the main enemy isn't even in any Street Fighter games. Finally, characters like Sakura and Rose appear with no purpase at all. Birdie make a bigger appearance. Birdie!!! Oh I almost forgot, this is not the sequel to Street Fighter II V (A great series). A must have for big street fighter fans I like this Anime. When I picked up this anime I expected a lot of action and this movie delivered the goods. It was action packed, animated really well. The few things I didn’t like was for one Ken who is my favored player in the SFA game got beat down for me most part, the villain was a guy that wasn’t even in the game, and Akuma who is another one of my favored players in the game didn’t even have that much of a Roll. Just as OK as the other Street Fighter movie This movie isnt worth spending full retail price on but for about 20$ why not its kinda worth it the anination is great it has a good story line and as always Chun Li is hot. The exaggerated style made it look just like the video game, but what good is all that without a decent story. Even the fights were sucky. The cover kinda clues you in though, cause Akuma is way in the background and that's where he stays; he NEVER fights Ryu! Well, he does, but not before the movie ends. Want a good Anime feature film, buy Princess Mononoke or something of similar caliber. Don't waste your money on this pile of waste. This movie was as poor as Legend Of Crystania (a spin-off sequel to Record of Lodoss War), with pathetic art, dumb story and a poor cast. I like Ryu. I like Ken. I like Akuma. But this stupid little kid that keeps on popping up??? Gah. If you hooked up with the pretty swell Japanese tv series and/or have the original SF movie, you will be more than disappointed with this. Remember the movie? It was fun. It was exciting. You quickly found out that Honda was a joker, Dhalsim has no sense of humor, the Ken/Ryu vs Bison fight was awesome!!! You get no thrills from this SFAlpha Movie. I loved the tv series, though it was so drawn out and too many animations were reused. If you are dying to see this, rent it from your local BIG video store. You'll be much happier not losing $25. First of all if you have played any street fighter games and you are a fan you will love this anime. This anime is one of my favorite martial arts anime of all time. The dam best ANIMATION ever made. I think thats Street fighter alpha is the best animation ever made. The audio is great and the animations are even better. Especially KEN`S uppercut towards the end. That is realy kool if you have it loud and with suround sound. If possible ill give Street Fighter a 101 out of 100. IT IS THE BEST...........TRUST ME. A side story I found the story line to be misleading to people who are fans of the series,however it is a good side story to fans of the game. I know that Akuma wasn't really in the movie but come on. The story is about Ryu and the conflicts of his past who no one really knows about.I thought this was one of the best game turned anime movies next to Street Fighter the Movie(which actually did follow the story of the video game.)If you are skeptical just rent it at a local video store. Jesse H - Mar 5 2006 Rating: Not all that good. Rent first, probably don't buy This show was well-animated and had good fight scenes, but that's about all it has going for it. The plot is total crap, and the music is only so-so. In all honesty, hardcore Street Fighter fans probably won't be pleased with this one, especially when compared to the fantastic "Street Figher 2: The Animated Movie". It isn't ALL bad, though, and would probably be worth a rental. Definitely try it out before buying. |
