All Shuichi ever dreamed about was following in the footsteps of his pop idol, Ryuichi Sakuma and the band Nittle Grasper. Together with his best friend Hiro, Shuichi's formed a band called Bad Luck and they've even managed to get signed to a major recording label! Unfortunately, the studio deadlines are looming and Shuichi still hasn't finished the lyrics for any of the songs. What he needs is a little inspiration...

Ever since he met Eiri Yuki, Shuichi's world has been turned upside down! Bad Luck now has a new manager: a gun-toting maniac by the name of K. He's managed to land them their first big break and it's even on TV! Unfortunately, it's not the kind of break any of them were expecting...

Bad Luck is breaking up?! Things are crumbling left and right. Shuichi, still recovering from his run-in with Taki Aizawa, is beginning to have second thoughts about his future with Bad Luck. His soaring popularity and fierce rivalry with ASK are threatening to really hurt Yuki... Will he quit Bad Luck just to keep Yuki safe? Meanwhile, Shuichi's love for Yuki may be unshakable, but their relationship is falling apart...

In order to heal the wounds in Eiri Yuki's heart, he and his vocalist lover, Shuichi, travel to New York to visit the grave of Yuki's first love and tormentor, Yuki Kitagawa. They discover that the first Yuki has left behind a young son, Riku, and so the odd couple take the boy back with them to Japan. When Shuuichi receives a kiss from nutty rival band leader, Ryuuichi, Yuki flies into a jealous rage, and he and Riku disappear, leaving Shuuichi to search for them in vain.

Shuichi returns to Japan and to his surprise, Eiri has come to greet him at the airport. Shuichi reveals that he just wants Eiri to open up to him. Hearing this, Eiri offers to say "I love you" - if Shuichi agrees to pay him every time he says it. Although Eiri is joking, Shuichi is dead serious about raising the money to hear those precious words. However, Eiri says something else that will leave Shuichi so shocked he will be unable to sing!

When it rains, it pours... Shuichi keeps digging himself deeper into the hole - the plans to release 5 singles in 3 weeks have been bumped up to 10 singles!! Talk about working hard for the money - Shuichi's responsible for 80% of the work for their upcoming, super-ambitious release schedule! Can Shuichi withstand the pressure, or will he crumble?

Shuichi and his band, Bad Luck, are a rising star in Japan's pop scene, and their chief rival, ASK, seems doomed to the has-been status of an 80s hairband. But just when it looks like the top spot on the Billboard charts is Bad Luck's for the taking, a completely unexpected competitor emerges - Nittle Grasper is reuniting! Now Shuichi finds his idol (not to mention his band's keyboardist) his biggest rival.

Frustrated by Ryuichi's superior talent, Shuichi decides to get into his own groove in order to go head-to-head against his idol. And when Eiri makes an unexplained exodus to New York, Hiro convinces Tatsuha to dress up like Eiri at the cooking show... hopefully lightning will strike again, and Shuichi will be inspired to hit a high note.

Eiri's and Shuichi's intense relationship continues to escalate as Bad Luck's record races to the top of the charts - Eiri's coming out party on national TV boosts his popularity, as fans chant, 'More, more, more!' But just as everyone is feeling sky high, Hiro announces that he's hanging up his guitar and quitting!
