Williams - Oct 4 2008 Prodigal22@aol.com Rating: This sucked! Thank Heaven I watched this before buying! This is a terrible, terrible piece of work. I want to call it something else, but I am following the review guidelines. I saw it in English without option of the original Japanese so I can only HOPE that is better. The animation as the previous person said, is choppy. It is done this way to simulate a defective robot, but it is just, bad. Looks like a bad 3-D Flash project. Malice looks great when she is human, but there is no explanation as to how this happened or for what reason. The ending left me saying what the....? Then again, most of the movie had me saying that. The reason I previewed this was that I saw it was about to come out on Blu-Ray and I am always looking for good animation on Blu-Ray. This is not recommended. I would not even recommend getting this on DVD. Save your money and buy a better anime; one with some actual thought and writing put into it. RahXephon Complete Collection DVD (Hyb) (Thinpak) Cameron E. Carlson - Oct 4 2008 camdog300@yahoo.com Rating: Wonderful! A tale of Heart and Love. This show was great from start to finish. I picked this up on whim after hearing from a friend. It has several talented voice actors and actress from all the anime companies mainly Vic Magoina and Monica Reial. Both lend there talent to this project. The story is heart wrenching and riveting up until the end. You will be rooting for the good guys all the way. It will also have you in treas at the tale of love. If you love Mech's, political plot, good story telling, and love. Then pick this anime up you will not be disappointed. Sasami Season 1 DVD Box Set (Hyb) Otaku Review - Oct 5 2008 otakureview@gmail.com Rating: Pretty good! It'll Grow On You At first this series presented itself as a love it or hate it series but sticking with it, it becomes easy to find this series growing on you a bit. While younger audiences are going to get the most appreciation out of this series, adults who sit down and give it a chance may find themselves slowly charmed as well. It’s not going to win any top ten lists this year but if you’re looking for a cute way to spend an afternoon or two, this set may very well be worth your time. Recommended. Aria The Animation DVD Collection (Season 1) (S) John C. Meyer - Oct 6 2008 Rating: Wonderful! Outstanding! This is a brilliant title and is easily one of the best releases in recent years! The series takes place 150 years after Mars (now called Aqua) in a town called Neo-Venezia, a replica of Venice. The plot follows the life and times of Akari Mizunashi an Undine (Gondolier) working in Neo-Venezia and also follows her many friends in Neo-Venezia. The animation is superb and the writing is equally outstanding. If you are a fan of the original manga, you will not be disappointed as the series is very faithful to its source material. The enivironment of Neo-Venezia is brilliantly realized. All the backgrounds are expertly drawn and you get the sense of actually living in there. Unlike so many other series, you feel as if Neo-Venezia has a heart and a soul. The series moves at a nice relaxed pace but keeps the viewer's attention throughout the entire series. Once you finish one episode, you want to see the next and after each DVD you want to put the next DVD in your player right away. And the end leaves you waiting for season 2 (when is that coming Nozomi?). This is one of the best anime around! If you like quality animation and storytelling then you owe it to yourself to add Aria to your collection. Elemental Gelade DVD 1 (Hyb): React Luke M. Ketchum - Oct 6 2008 Rating: Wonderful! A beautiful tale with a unique style One of the finer anime's I've had the pleasure of watching. The story in and of it self has bits and pieces of similarities to other animes, but melded together in a fashion to wonderful to ignore. Sky pirates, magical girls, fantastic weapons, epic battles, and enough equal parts action, comedy, and romance to entertain anyone. It's no epic achievement, but it won't disappoint :) Fate/Stay Night DVD 1 (Hyb): Advent of the Magi Luke M. Ketchum - Oct 6 2008 quasikomodo@hotmail.com Rating: Wonderful! A breathtaking anime that is nothing short of "Legendary" A beautiful anime steeped with incredible fight scenes and plenty of dark mystery and intrigue. If swords and sorcery are your thing, this anime delivers full force. A must-see for a fan of Fantasy. School Rumble DVD 1 (Hyb) Luke M. Ketchum - Oct 6 2008 quasikomodo@hotmail.com Rating: Pretty good! Random Hilarity at it's finest No it's not what you think! School Rumble (which has nothing to do with rumbling) is one of the funniest animes out there, in my opinion second only to Excel Saga and exceeding UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie. The extreme character personalities, love triangles, and constant misunderstandings will have you laughing in moments. True comedic gold. |
