Even though the tragedy that occurs in the story is indeed a lot to handle for just one person, I love how the girls band together with a new found strength. The strenth of friendship seems to beat every obstacle. The trio they make is very sweet and I can't wait for the next volume. Tanya M. I usually enjoy the dub more inquiry to reading subs (which I do not like reading subs during the process of trying to understand the show). The original Japanese language track is a bit better, yet if you'd like to stick with the dub, it would not make a difference. Subtitles : B Clearly readable, yet were off with some words that would make a slight difference towards the appeal of the girls in the story. Story : C Your typical idol singer drama, somewhat like Glass Mask, Millennium Actress, Perfect Blue, yet a PG rated version understandable towards kids. Animation : C+ The animation is serviceable (though not impressive), incorporating unusual character designs that seem faintly reminiscent of the old shoujo dramas such as Glass Mask, but with modernized curves and clean lines. Art : C+ Background backdrops are exceptional, yet aren't that colorful. Music : B Great, yet not excellent JPop music. + Pretty cool pop music... - ... over and over again Overall, Chance Pop Session is on of those series that can be enjoyed on the surface due to the themes being identifiable and well crafted. It invokes almost a sense of happiness when the series is watched, but when the various aspects of the series are broken up, its many flaws can be picked out. Without a doubt, Chance Pop is one of the most practical series to come, so if you feel like you’re “burned out” on anime, try this. It may just be the unique solution you’ve been looking for. Chance Pop Session overally turned out to be an addictive, sweet, and earnest show. |
