I wanna have a pure time, everyone's a noble mind
After years of waiting, what is widely considered the greatest of all gundam series is now available in the U.S. Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, a direct sequal to the original series contains a taught political struggle between the colonies and earth and spectacular mobile suit battles not to mention both tragic and dashing heros and cunning villians. Any Gundam fan worth is salt knows that the oppertunity to own this set cannot be passed up. I reccomend this series with every fiber of my being!

Best Gundam series EVER!!
Finally after such a long time, Zeta is finally coming to America. Ever since Bandai started releasing Gundam in America, I've been waiting for this. This series takes everything about the original Mobile Suit Gundam and turns it upsidedown. Amuro and Char on the same side, Federation's gone corrupt and are the bad guys, and the remaining Axis Zeon are courted by both sides of the conflict as potential allies. This is the darkest and most grim entry in all of Gundam. This is the one Gundam fans have been waiting for.

The greatest giant robot anime of all time, finally legit!
At long last! Bandai has finally given us something worth buying from the Gundam universe! Angstity-angst! Lots of death, suffering, and dying here! This little masterpiece didn't earn the director the nickname Yoshiyuki "Kill em all" Tomino for nothin.

One more step towards perfection...
No Gundam fan can enter nirvana without seeing all of the Universal Century in its entirety. Bandai/Sunrise has already brought us the original MS Gundam, the 08th MS Team, War in the Pocket, Stardust Memory, Char's Counterattack, and the lonely G-Saviour. Now they bring Zeta and F91? All I can do is stare into thin air with drool hanging from my lower lip and chuckling like a nerd who has lost all sanity (because I have become a nerd who has lost all sanity). Now I must stay frozen in this position until they release Double-Zeta and Victory Gundam. A happy thought... :)~~~~~~*

NEVER EVER SEEN ANYTHING THIS HORRIBLE
i am mad for several reasons one this series just plain sucks two the characters are weak three the story is lame four animation even for the 80s is terrible and it cost way to much for what you get i have seen most of the other gundam series and i have seen fair number of animation seires from the 80s but none were this crappy. 50 espiodes of shear nothingness let me give you an example of the show: "oh i am a poilt i kill and i hate that" five secs later "i am happy he is dead" five secs later "why does she not like me" five secs "oh i am a polit i kill and i hate that" ............ AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH.......... i hated this series the worst gundam ever if you like gundam i highy recommend you run if you see this series on retail shelfs if you do want to get it wait for a sale or something this series is horrible

SAVE YOUR MONEY !!!

PS: opening and ending credits songs have been changed to just music so you don't hear any lyrics.

A complete masterpiece
Zeta is so amazing it will blow your mind. The epic storyline & the character drama. The animation is wonderful, for a 1985 long running anime the animation is better than anime from the 90's such as Gundam Wing. The music is so wonderful. The mecha battles are some of the most intense ever. Most agree with is Tomino's masterpiece.

The box set is a steal! There are short 13 ep OVAs that cost more than this, & they arn't limited with such great extras. If there is one anime to buy its this one.

I think 95% of people that have seen Zeta like it, its rare that someone hates it unless there some Wing or SEED fanboy just saying it sucks since so many Gundam fans love it and they are jealous or something.

An empty mess.
I've been a Gundam fan for years. I've seen about every Gundam out there at this point. Understandably I was eager to see what many had bandied about as the greatest Gundam ever. Finally the box set arrived on my doorstep. After getting around the damaged DVDs I finally watched the show, and found it to be empty. Totally empty. There are no characters. No development. Nothing changes. Key plot points are skipped over or ignored. The animation is a bit meh for a show of its period. (When comparing it to Macross at least.)

Honestly, the writing was simply terrible, the plotting boring, and Tomino's normal pizzaz for mecha fights was... missing. This is everything a good show should NOT be. Character drama? Where? The characters were boring, didn't react naturally, or reacted just the right way to get them killed. Epic story? The show doesn't even give you a good sense of the various factions beliefs, goals, or force distribution. All key.

For an actual quality Gundam go watch F91, X, Seed, ZZ, the orignal trilogy, 08th MS. Heck, practically anything that isn't Zeta.
