Amuro Namie - Dec 10 2002 Rating: Not all that good. Disappointing, as I expected Being a fan of the original anime series by the same title, I set my expectations very low when I watched this. Alas, my expectations were not low enough! SURELY they WANTED to do a good job, (hm, can you say limited budget?) but what it amounts to is not erotic or interesting in the least. The highlights of the movie include what little nudity there is, a beautiful nurse (the main actresses are only average-looking), and the faces of actors and actresses contemplating how to act as they recite their lines (to me, it's so bad that its funny). It is based off a hentai series of the same name. The anime series is fairly tame, and so is the movie. Actually this movie is very much like the anime, except for one major thing. The pacing is pretty bad in the live action movie. In the anime everything was crammed into a short 30 minute episode, but this is crammed into a 70 minute movie. So the space between any real action (and not just adult stuff, but actual action) is much longer. What this does is make the movie very boring at times. It also doesn't help that half the cast can't act (the other half aren't around long enough to really make an impression). Also of note. Anyone planing to buy this movie for the sex should think twice. While there is some, it is all REALLY tame (only upperbody nudity and some implied stuff). Also there is very little in the entire 70 minutes (about three or four scenes total). Sadly this movie never reached the "so bad its good" standing, but really just fell into the "eh, it was ok, nothing special" standing. The movie just tries to hard to be both a legitamate horror film, and a soft core porn romp, and fails at both. Try only if you're a fan of the anime. Wantu Seymour - Oct 3 2003 Rating: "Okay." Missing something... If your going to make a live parody out of a hentai, at least do it right. Here is something I can't understand... why do they go to such great lengths to make these adult scenes, but never deliver when it really counts? If your looking for a shot of the female genetalia then your out of luck if you try live action japanese hentai. What's the point? The scenes are really sexy but that's the sad because they never show "it". That maybe might be being chauvistic, but be honest, exactly what reason are you buying these types of movies in the first place? These movies are supposed to be B movies anyway, the actors and actresses are never supposed to be any good and the story itself isn't supposed to be all that grand either. This movie just goes along with that pattern. All in all? These movies are made for the sex and sometimes violence, so lets show some courage and actually show some stuff. This is something I am asking from those that make and publish these movies. |
