Wonderful is not a good enough description!
I picked this up on a whim yesterday. I had no idea what I was going to see, and I don't know anyone who has seen it. My fiancee and I sat down and popped it in. Let's get one thing straight: Miss Readman is . . . strange. The fact that she loves reading is fine, but she values books more than her own life (LITERALLY!). She is called Agent Paper for a reason and I will not spoil it for you, but when you see the reason why, you will be very happily amazed. There is a lot of real history in this one wrapped into a fictitious anime tale that any anime fan will love. Do not rent this, BUY IT! Make your friends buy it, and hope & pray they make more of this. It seems longer than 90 minutes because the story is that deep. Enjoy!

This is a fairly fast moving secret agent type movie
You are dropped into this story without any idea of the background of what has been going on or who anyone is, but don't worry you will pickup on it as the story moves forward. It's nice to see something a little different in an Anime.

One of our secret agents has power over paper (I've never seen this before)and the other can just pass thru solid objects (ok - a little xmen there)but she is a secret agent not an xmen - ok !!!

The bad guys like electricity and steam and gliders (I mean like who wouldn't) as their weapons.

Although this takes place in modern times there's a little touch of the old style from Sakura Wars in some of the characters (that 1920's scientific look).

I would rate this as a MUST SEE because it is different from most secret agent Animes.

Intellectual Action Flick, now this IS different
I had heard about this film awhile back after it's release in Japan. At first I didn't give it much attention until a close friend of mine who had shown some interest in it (that and the fact he admires girls with glasses) brought it up. During the same time I had seen it posted on TRSI site last week. After reading some reviews, and taking in one fellow student worker's suggestion, I immediately went out and purchased this OVA series this past Friday (6/9/03)without the slightest inkling as to whether I would enjoy it. In the worse case scenario, if my friend liked it I could always pass it off to him. I had decided that I would check it out some time during the week when I had time. After sitting down and popping it in my machine yesterday (6/11/03) and listening to the film's musical score upon the DVD intro. I had this feeling that I had made another great purchase. And sure enough after sitting through the first 10 minutes of the film I was amazed by the originality and construction of the film. It truly lives up to it's name. Historical intellectualism combined with mysticism. With some action and a little "eye candy" thrown in. The creators earned it for their hard work coming up with such a story.

Sell it now? NO WAY! He'll have to get his own copy now this one's MINE!!

I really enjoyed this series a great deal. So much that it not only had me hanging on edge of my seat but it had me in tears too. I've already recommended this as a new purchase to the art library in which I work; the School of Visual Arts Library (NYC). It's another PLUS to add to our growing collection of animation from all genres. I highly recommend this film to those looking for something different in an anime feature.

The best keeps getting better
There is a TV series for this show. I only hope Pioneer (I forgot what their new name is) gets the rights to this. FUNimation got the rights to the Tenchi GXP series (Pioneer did the last three Tenchi series) and it is a shame. I hate FUNimation because they rip people off and have produced shoddy products as of late.

Here's to hoping the best man wins the rights to this series.

WATCH IT OR DIE!
This is a great Anime hands down. The story line and the animation are both very fluid in motion you won't be able to pause the damn thing to go to the bathroom, so hold it in! No rating will do justice for this Anime so you best see it for yourself. The TV series aren't bad either. Currently I've seen the first 3 episodes of the TV series though an Anime group that I'm apart of and yes, it's as good as the OVA. Looks like I won't be able to go to the bathroom for awhile. >:)

Awsum detail
Without spoiling the story I will just say that even though the first time I saw it was on cartoon network's adult swim it was really cool, I already started buying the R.O.D. TV series on DVD. Cool action scenes I knew paper could cut but holy crap LOL check it out its got a little of everything, cute women in skirts, sword fights, cloning of the dead, space ship, floating fortrice, apociliptic visions. I would definately recomend this video to someone.

If you like this you'll love the TV Series !!
Just a note to those who like this one, they also put out a TV series that continues the story and slowly fills you in on the history of this secret agency. The TV series is actually better than the OVA, infact not just better but fantastic. This is the first anime TV series that was better than the origianl OVA - so see this OVA first then pick up the TV series, you will not be disappointed !!!
