Ranma 1/2: Movie 2 DVD (Hyb): Nihao My Concubine

This film kicks the crap out of the first when it comes to the animation. but the story isn't as deep and thought out as the first movie. This one is more like a longer OAV title. But it still kicks ass. Just like the first one, it has laughs and fighting. I thought this one was actually a little more funny than the other. Either way, if you have the first one, then I would suggest this one 100%. If you haven't seen the first one, then get that one first and check it out, or buy them both. I think you'll like both of them no matter which one you see first, but just in case, the first movie is longer and is more story coordinated. Jamie Stafford - May 3 2001 Rating: Pretty good! Good introduction to Ranma 1/2 series This film was my introduction to the Ranma 1/2 series. After having heard so much about it from friends, I decided to give it a chance. While I am not sure I would actually buy other Ranma titles, it was certainly a fun change from what I normally watch (mostly sci-fi and magical girl anime). For newcomers to the Ranma universe, the DVD features a "character relationships" segment, which graphically shows who likes who, along with a clip from the film which is representative of that relationship. The dubbing is ATROCIOUS, even worse than the Ghost in the Shell dub!!!!! Fortunately, the DVD also has a subtitled version. Jesse Hausler - Jun 18 2005 Rating: Wonderful! Fun in the sun with the ones that are dumb! The second movie might not be QUITE as good as the first, but that doesn't mean that it's not unspeakably awesome (trust me, it is)! The animation on this one is truly beautiful, and it represents the peak in Ranma 1/2's quality in that respect. Hahaha... as the description says, this movie contains plenty of eye candy as well, but it's done classily so as to not detract from the movie. The music is pretty darn good, as are both audio tracks (sub and dub are equally excellent here). The plot is great; it mixes in mystery and suspense with hilarity and kung-fu fighting, resulting in a strange but fantastic story. My only complaint is that the movie really seems to slow down in the middle. In fact, that's probably the only thing that keeps it from being as good as the first movie. Anyway, I'd recommend this to pretty much anybody that likes Ranma 1/2 or anime in general. Two double-jointed thumbs up! Ogie Doggie - Oct 12 2005 ogiedoggie@aol.com Rating: Wonderful! If you're a fan of Ranma 1/2 you will NOT be disappointed Being a fan of Ranma 1/2 somehow I had missed this one and just picked it up. Wow, not only is it more of Ranma 1/2 and the gang, but it really is good. Don't miss this one, you will not be disappointed !!! (and I thought I had seen it all, but an elephant??). Steven R. Just to tell you quick, if your thinking of buying this movie, don't even think about it! DO IT!!! Gender-bending action all around, as well as plenty of cats (Ranma begins to slink away). My opinion is the voice acting is top quality. If some people think its a bit rough around the edges, they haven't watched enough of this series to realize thats how the characters are portrayed. I wouldn't have it anyother way, its what makes them so genuine! I'm just glad it was dubbed before Ranma's original voice actor left the show (such a shame). Both super attacks of Ranma and Ryouga are displayed, a great plus, and this movie is even given the nod in the OAV 'Tendo Family Christmas Scramble'. A must for ANY anime fan's collection! |
