X TV Series DVD Box Set 1 (Hyb) (Discs 1-4)
Machelle Klaus - Dec 2 2009 bewitchingly_beautiful@msn.com
Rating: Pretty good!
One of CLAMP's best worksto date, with an impressive bit of packaging
I've been a fan of X for nearly 3 years, so I already knew I would enjoy the series before I got it. Based on its manga predecessor, X is, in my opinion, one of CLAMP's most solid, intriguing, original and gorgeously illustrated works.

The studio did a fair job translating the manga onto the screen (far better than the movie)and went the extra mile to make sure every character got their time to shine. The problem with this, unique to the anime, is that there is a ginormous cast to include, and at times, some characters suffer for lack of development. Also, due to the manga still being unfinished, an ending had to be written especially for the anime.

As for the actual sets and packaging, I was highly impressed. The box sleeves are of very good quality and sturdy, and contain some lovely illustrations. The characters guide included is pretty spiffy as well.

My only complaint is about the disc extras, which are lackluster at best. The Director Interview, I had to wonder if he even knew half the time what series he was reviewing. He spoke of it in such broad, generic and watered down terms, that take out names (and he only mentions Kamui and Kotori through the ENTIRE thing) and he could easily be talking about show.
Angel Blade Returns DVD (Hyb) Adult

Not as good as volume 1
This volume contains only one episode (#3), and it really wasn't even that good. Of course, depending on your tastes you might actually like it, but I felt the first two episodes were much better.

Technically there's nothing wrong with this episode; the art, animation, and audio are all fantastic. However this episode seems rather bland, and if you care about the story... it doesn't really make any progress in that area.

This volume does include a rather lengthy recap of the first two episodes with all the juicy scenes, but if you've already seen those episodes it's not much of a bonus.

To be honest, there was no reason to release this series as 2 volumes because episode 3 should have just been included on the first DVD. I would only recommend this volume if you're a collector.
My-Otome DVD 1 (Hyb)

Rating: "Okay."
Decent animation, not quite the original but may be worth a look.
Animation quality: superior. Well drawn characters and a smooth fluid style.

Audio: Good. Audio was stereo and in sync. Aside from that...nothing special.

Summary: A very loose sequel to My-HIME. Basic story: young girl from nowhere tries to be her best at a school for potential personal servant/super-powered bodyguards of country leaders or 'Otome' in the series.

I picked this up expecting a similar storyline or world like a year/generation after. That may have been why I just could not get into this series.

The original (My-HIME) seemed to have more depth and development of characters. At first I wondered why it was even labeled as a sequel...that much in revealed late in the series. I watched all the way through and aside from some visual (some of the characters look EXACTLY the same) similarities and the usual over the top angst and betrayal, this series just did not pull me in the same way. Even the music, the OP, EP and BGM did not seem to be at the same level as My-HIME for it was not quite as stirring or attention grabbing. There is also a great deal more politics in this series.

Still overall there is a fair story and with the animation quality being superior than most, it may be worth a look for you.
Naughty College School Girls DVD (S) Adult
Beer Man - Dec 4 2009
Rating: Not all that good.
Manga on dvd.
The film had a bunch of sex scenes but it was pretty much just pictures staying still. It had no plot and I have seen way better hentai's then this one. It was almost like a manga on dvd. They should of just put it in that form. A waste of money.

Very Good
The review of the first one tells it but there sounds like there is a number 2 movie in the series.
