It may not seem like a good one to catch(crossdresser gets job teaching), but believe me, if you don't, then you are missing out on alot here. i could go on in detail how the series is, but that would contain spoilers and i dont want to do that n_n Cedrrick Shaw - Aug 14 2002 Rating: Wonderful! Funny with big twist This is a heart warming story. It remind me of GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka alot try to prove that he is a great teacher and more. But, with a twist going under cover as a woman to get the job. They don't hire men at all at the local high school. Hibiki most prove and show that men has heart. Show that they are going at things the wrong way and it's fun as hell at times to. So, if you like GTO cartoon your love this one, it a must buy. I can't wait for part two POP QUIZ! To see what unfold in this anime series! Jeremy Jackson - May 6 2004 jjacksong@mchsi.com Rating: Wonderful! There are no words. None. Where do I begin? I was totally unprepared. As a woman who is forced to subsist in a male body, I bought this thinking I would be able to identify with the lead character. I don't know what else I was expecting, but I was totally unprepared. I roared with laughter, I cried, I got angry, I fell in love. From the seemingly shallow and comedic premise bloomed a story that pierced my soul, and characters I came to cherish deeply. 13 short episodes...then it was gone, and I ache for more. But there is no more to be had....this bittersweet feeling is the essence of shoujo. If you want to laugh yourself hoarse, if you want to be moved, if you want to live briefly in the lives of these wonderful, flawed people, go get this now. Recommended especially for lovers of touching shoujo ai. The fact that one of the participants is in the shell of a man is, like my own situation, a mere technicality. Bainsidhe 5 - Jan 18 2006 Rating: Wonderful! Much more than I expected Okay, I have to admit I thought this was just another guy-crossdresses-as-a-girl comedy. I was wonderfully suprised by this sweet and oh so endearing gem of an anime. I know my review is just one of many, however I found myself genuinely touched by a number of the characters, the main character in particular. I tend to be quite the pushover when it comes to pretty boys anyway, but it is rare for me to like a character so much because of the person the character is, not just because he happens to be a hottie, bad ass, super bad ass, etc... Sure sure, I know I am gushing now, but I really like the main character and his total committment to his students. He's just a swell guy. And a hottie, which always helps ;) Really, I found the anime overall to be a very moving series with a great deal of heart. Even as a work of fiction, this anime addresses some very realistic issues and personalities. This is one anime I'm really glad I added to my collection. Go sensei!! Jerry F. Schimmel - Jun 9 2008 jschim40@sbcglobal.net Rating: Pretty good! Exploring male vs. female behavior stereotypes. Aside from some of the slapstick scenes added to lighten the plot this series of 13 episodes rather sensitively treats the stereotyped behavior of men vs women using high school students as the vehicle. In the series the hero becomes a young Japanese "Tootsie," that is a man who needs a job as a teacher but can only get one by presenting himself as a woman. In the process he learns that he has more "femaleness" in his nature than he expected. Some mild ecchi behavior shown and no explicit sex. For a young sophisticated audience - and even older. |
