City Hunter Movie 1 DVD (Hyb): The Motion Picture

More antics from Ryu Saeba You can't help but like a guy who's suave, thoughtful and strong on one hand and then a goofy pervert on the other. This "movie" was actually a TV special called "Goodbye my sweetheart." It's a good story featuring a brother/sister relationship, with Ryu and friends there to solve the case. There's some decent and fluid action sequences and of course the usual buffoonery from Ryu and Kaori's hammers! The finale is borrowed from Speed but has some great over the top chases and John Woo homages. I enjoyed it a lot especially the Japanese version. The English version is okay but they didn't need to change the names and add profanity. Again if you want to see some City Hunter but can't afford the TV series, then try this as a sampler. |
