Chobits Graphic Novel 1 (192 pgs) Reviews of this title:
Punk Anarchist - Oct 23 2007 Rating: Wonderful! Very Touching I've read all 8 manga volumes, still have yet to see the anime, but I can safely say that this manga is one of the best. Its very good. While they're may be some pervy jokes in Chobits, its so much more. Its about liking someone for who they are, not for what they are or what they have to offer. Take Chii. Chii is a persocom, a doll-shaped computer that can talk, think, and generally live like a human being. She has come to like Hideki, just for who he is. I mean come on, Hideki's not exactly a bishonen, but he's got a big heart, and really does care, and in a way, goes out of his way to help others. Even Chii, who is only a robot. But just because of her kind personality, (and she's cute too) Hideki fell for her. And its not just them two. Minoru and Yuzuki develop a lasting relationship, as well as Shinbo and Takako, and Yumi and Hiroyasu (although, that couple I found weird, Hiroyasu is way too old for Yumi) but the story is trying to make a point, and its rather touching. I recommend this manga. Hopefully, this is the manga just for you. Thats a Chobits pun by the way. |
