Getting Along in Japanese DVD 3: Taking the Train & Bus (D) LiveAction

Getting Along in Japanese is a DVD video learning series which presents the Japanese language through familiar daily situations. The setting is a traditional Japanese inn where the hosts teach their guests to communicate using practical and current expressions.

Hosts Katsuya Kobayashi and Kaori Itakura introduce spoken Japanese through carefully dramatized skits designed to help beginning students learn to cope with everyday life in modern Japan.

In the third episode Mr. Kobayashi encourages students to speak with confidence when they try to communicate in Japanese. Viewers are introduced to key phrases necessary when asking for help and directions at a train station or when taking a bus.

All lessons are repeated with, and without, English translation to challenge and assist students as they try to remember and use new vocabulary. Patterns unique to the Japanese language are emphasized, especially when asking questions and hearing positive and negative replies.

Kaori ends Episode Three by using photos to explain signs frequently seen at subways and train stations - very necessary information for navigating around Japan.

Each DVD can be viewed straight through or in separate chapters, allowing access to individual segments for helpful repetition and easy learning.
