Getting Along in Japanese DVD 2: Asking the Way (D) LiveAction

Getting Along in Japanese is a DVD video learning series which presents the Japanese language through familiar daily situations. The setting is a traditional Japanese inn where the hosts teach their guests to communicate using practical and current expressions.

Hosts Katsuya Kobayashi and Kaori Itakura introduce spoken Japanese through carefully dramatized skits designed to help beginning students learn to cope with everyday life in modern Japan.

In the second episode of Getting Along in Japanese, students face the problem of asking for directions. A humorous skit shows viewers how to find the bathroom in a department store and then how to ask a policeman for help finding an address in Tokyo.

Mr. Kobayashi repeats the main points and provides new grammar. Students are taught to pronounce helpful key phrases to express themselves when feeling lost or confused. Kaori then shows viewers photos of Japan's legendary "Koban" Police Boxes where police can be asked for directions.

Each DVD can be viewed straight through or in separate chapters, allowing access to individual segments for helpful repetition and easy learning.
